2023: Ebonyi Ex-Council Boss Declares Intention to run for Governor

*’I have a Divine Vision to Serve the State’ – Prof Nwuzor Affirms

Ebonyi State may get its first female governor come 2023 as Prof.Adaeze Nwuzor has formally declared her interest to run for the top seat in the state in next year’s general elections.

Prof.Nwuzor who was the first female local government chairman in Ebonyi State under Chief Martin Elechi’s administration has expressed her readiness to serve the State come 2023 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Declaring at Justice Nwuzor Country’s Home, Abarigwe Ishieke on Wednesday March 1,2022, she revealed that her vision is to transform the State into an industrial hub through agriculture.
Speaking with the stakeholders, the former Senior Special Assistant to the state Governor disclosed that she has the vision to serve and to bring her wealth of experiences to governance.

The gubernatorial aspirant who is a professor of Agriculture, Extension Communication and Rural Development pointed out that she’s prepared to transform the state by introducing modern agriculture as to bring unemployment to it’s barrest minimum.

The PDP Chieftain commended past leaders of the state for their sincere services to the development of the state, and stated that from the first executive governor of the state,Dr Sam Ominyi Egwu, the State has been blessed with free and compulsory education which has contributed to the growth and development of the State.

She highlighted that his successor, Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi also left an indelible mark with the unity bridges among his other human interest projects before the emergence of Engr David Umahi who brought his engineering profession into pratice.

The erstwhile Ebonyi Council chairman hinted that the state needs rural development, she assured the people of her plans to harness agricultural potentials of the State through partnership with successful investors that will develop the sector to the envy of other States.

She further explained that focusing on rural development would ensure that major basic amenities among which are road, water and electricity be made available to all as to compliment the development of the past administrations.

On what she tagged, AEHIS, as her major area of priority, which is Agriculture, Education, Health, Infrastructure and Security, professor Nwuzor said she would continued free and compulsory education from where Dr Egwu stopped.

She added that basic primary health care would be given due attention and would form her major interest, even as, she gives more priority in infrastructural development especially in various communities in the state.

she further noted that she would bring back what she described as one-man, one-security strategy which worked perfectly during her time as Council chairman as to bring an end to hoodlums invasion in the state.

The gubernatorial aspirant, however, promised that her administration if given support would entrenches justice for all bring hope for justice, through her divinely revealed policies and programmes and pledged to ensure that those who fought for the creation of the state are sincerely rewarded for their sacrifices.

Recall that professor Adaeze Nwuzor was the immediate past Senior Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Higher Education and first female executive chairman Ebonyi Local Government Area, position which she served with various meritorious awards and unforgettable programmes among the popular compulsory bursary and scholarship as council chairman, and school debate that Ebonyi State won first position in president Muhammadu Buhari Debate Competition, Abuja.

Also recall was that professor Adaeze Nwuzor is the first female professor in Izhi land comprising of the three council areas of Abakaliki, Ebonyi and Izzi Local Government Areas of Ebonyi North Zone, a native of Abarigwe Agalegu Ishieke community
