The flag bearer for the Afikpo North East Constituency , Ebonyi State, on the platform of Social Democratic Party, Hon. Azubuike Ewa Agu has said that it high time the youths are giving the required support to take charge of governance in the country.
Hon Agu who recently won the party primaries unopposed made this known to THE VOICE in Abakaliki.
He maintained that after much consultation with community heads, youth leaders , women and his understanding of the challenges facing the State, his decision to contest as a member representing his constituency in the Ebonyi state assembly come 2023 general elections became necessary.
Hon. Agu stated that the State and Nigeria at large needs a Messiah who would rescue the country from the economic and socio-political decay, corruption which has eaten deep into the fabrics of the nation.
Adding that the country is in a state of comatose and could only be rescued by a determined and focused youth leader who would steer the nation to the right direction.
He further maintained that “our society and economy has faced a lot of Developmental decays since 1999 to 2022 and if adequate political arithmetic is not permutated, an algebraic social and political injustice will be meted on us for the rest of our time which will be a wrong bearing for the upcoming generations and societal decadence.
Adding “taking from the juvenile exhibitions of our graduates and women folks ,you bear me witness that indeed we need a Moses to liberate our land and restore tranquility.When Messengers of God are asleep the Nation slumbers in evil.
“When the Bulldozers are confused, the operators are focus. Our Country is in a confusion state ,we need focused and determined Youth leaders to direct and steer the polity.
“The older you become , the weaker you become so also the younger you become the smarter the youthful you become.
Speaking on the party, he disclosed that he believed in the party, as it has all it takes to lead him to the State Assembly and beyond,while maintaining that the popularity of a party doesn’t count but the machinery it has to lead one to its destination that matters.
