The Gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC), Rt.Hon. Francis Nwifuru has promised to build 500 bungalows for the internally displaced persons in Ebonyi State when elected as the Governor of the State.
He made this known during a stakeholder’s meeting with the elders of Ezza clan in their ancestral home at Onueke in Ezza South LGA of Ebonyi State.
Speaker Nwifuru revealed that his first 100 days would be used to build 500 hundred houses in five communities for villagers who have been displaced from their homes as a result of crisis.
According to him, the communities include; Izu community, Amanze community, Igbeagu community, Agbaja community, and Nwa-Inyimegu community, all in Ebonyi State.
While appreciating the people of Ezza for the unity and peace that exist among them, he explained that he would pursue peace if elected as Governor in 2023.
He explained that Izzi and Ezza clans are brothers and would continue to work together for peace, unity and progress of their people and Ebonyi state in general.
“When I become the Governor of Ebonyi State, the first one hundred days in office, Izo community, Amanze Community, Agbaja community that is, those displaced in Centenary city, Igbeagu community and Nwe-Inyimegu community, these five communities will have atleast five hundred bungalows” he stated.
He appreciated the people for their show of solidarity, and called on the youths to desists from drugs and be responsible citizens of the State.
Earlier, the elders of Ezza Ezekunna adopted the speaker, Nwifuru as their sole Gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State, come 2023.
The Ezza people, comprising political office holders, APC candidates, women and youth groups, community leaders, traditional and religious leaders unanimously adopted Speaker as their sole gubernatorial candidate.
In a motion moved by Dr. Livinus Ezeuwa and seconded by Chief Ikeuwa Omabe, from Ezza North local government area, the people stated that speaker is the only Candidate with vision and competence to lead the State.
Adding that his candidature was in line with equity, justice and fairness in governorship rotation in the state, and urged all parts of the state to support him to emerge Governor next year.
“With the peaceful and harmonious relationship existing between Ezza people and Izzi people which started from time immemorial, the Ezza people are confident that supporting an Izzi governorship in 2023 will help Ezza nation to produce the next Governor of the state in 2031.
“We are also of the view that with his capable leadership of Ebonyi state House of Assembly as speaker, and his various displays of admirable leadership qualities, Chief Francis Nwifuru is eminently qualified to become the governor of Ebonyi state in 2023.
“Consequently, Ezza nation hereby adopts all candidates of the APC from House of Assembly, Senate , Governorship and President as their candidates for the 2023 general elections” he said
The meeting which was well attended, was graced by prominent sons and daughters of Ezza clan.
Among those who attended the meeting include; Secretary to Ebonyi state Government, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala; a prominent stakeholder and former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Innocent Ugochima; APC candidate for Ebonyi central, Ken Eze; APC House of Assembly and House of Representatives candidates, council Chairmen, government functionaries and FON support groups.
