The Ebonyi assembly candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Amb.Azubuike Ewa Agu, on Saturday denied news that he has abadoned his political ambition and decamped to the ruling party.
Hon. Azuibuike seeking to represent the people of Afikpo North East Constituency told the Voice online in Abakaliki that he had no issues with his party, SDP and has no intention to decamp to any political party.
The Voice scooped that reports have been making round that Hon.Azubike has dumped his political ambition and has endorsed candidates of the ruling party ahead of the general elections.
Speaking to the Voice, the SDP candidate stated ” I speedily wish to notify the general public that I Hon. Azubuike Agu contesting for Afikpo North East constituency Ebonyi state House of Assembly, have not decamped to All Progressive Congress (APC) or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“I didn’t make any move neither did I declare leaving my great party” SDP”, any intention to meet with me by any political party for such should be official not misleading the public with fake information that I decamped to other Political party.
Adding “the whole thing started when I got a call from Candidates of APC in disguise to lure me as a member with the kind words of praise. I never knew who was in attendance when the call was made only to receive the flying news that Pnoble has called me.
“I am aware that I took various pictures with all the Candidates anywhere we meet each other since we are brothers and friends.
“I am a liberal leader. So what ever they say about the picture is up to them.
“I’m aware that not all battles we need to respond to. Not all arguments or critics we need to answer I have received alot of calls,visits,from my friends,supporters and family, including a call from the state party Chairman.
“PDP stakeholders have equally made a move to talk down on other candidates so I step down to join them because I have no money and defined Political structure and I refused their offers.
“It is imperative to make it clear here and now clearing the doubt, I didn’t step down neither did I joined another party.
“I know APC faithfuls are jubilating over the cooked & unverified news, they’re dreaming and I’m not with them.
“I am not going to compromise my hard earn reputation, integrity and dignity to any amount of money.
“how long shall my Community suffer and be in darkness?For how long shall our youths destinies be mortgaged?
He further reiterated his commitment towards ensuring effective representation if giving the chance to represent his people.
“I strongly believe that together we shall continue to break new grounds and reposition leadership in the Grassroot. and a new Nigeria is possible and , I pray to God to grant me the grace to uphold this great feat and advance the cause of service to God and humanity in our constituency and beyond as you vote for me come Saturday, March 18, 2023.” He stated.
