The Joint University Preliminary Board (JUPEB) has commended the Centre for Educational Services (CES), Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State for the efficient and transparent management of JUPEB programmes and examinations in the University.

The Board gave the commendation recently when one of its external supervisors, Prof. J. U. Nwogu paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday Elom, at his office.

‘We thank the Vice-Chancellor and his Management team for the conducive environment they have provided for the running of JUPEB programmes in the University, especially the transparency in examinations. ’

He noted that with the installation and use of CCTV cameras in all its affiliates’ institutions for its examinations, JUPEB has gone ahead of other examination bodies in trying to ensure transparency and accountability in the conduct of examinations in Nigeria.

Prof. Nwogu further commended the conduct of the students in the course of writing their examinations, adding that they had comported themselves really well, adding that the staff of the Centre are people that can be trusted.

He also advised the University Management to put plans in motion to move the JUPEB Centre to its permanent site, noting that it will generate more funds for the University, as more students could be admitted into the programme.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor who was represented at the event by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Abel Ezeoha expressed his happiness on the commendation, adding that the University will continue to work towards improving the Centre of Educational Services to provide quality service delivery to students.

He further stated that the University is a critical stakeholder with the Joint University Preliminary Board (JUPEB in preparing students for university education through preliminary studies, stressing that he was happy the Board sees the University in good light.

Earlier, the Acting Director, Centre For Educational Services, Dr. Charles Ogaekirigwe had briefed the University Management on the successful organization of the JUPEB examinations which started on Monday,  1st to Friday, 12th August, 2022 at the Centre.

He further noted that the installation of CCTV cameras at the Centre made invigilation and supervision of the examination easy and seamless, and thanked the Vice-Chancellor for approving the installation of the cameras.

He also commended the support and cooperation of the external supervisor,    Prof. Nwogu in making the examination a huge success.
