- Again! Gov Umahi Bags National Award
The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi has bagged another national award.
The governor will be awarded as ‘Grassroots Development Governor of the year 2019’, by Independent Newspapers Limited.
This was stated In a release signed by the commissioner for Information and State Orientation and the Ag Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, made available to The Voice Newspaper on Friday.
The award ceremony came up on Saturday March 7, at Eko Hotels and Suits, Victoria Island Lagos.
According to the media house, Gov. Umahi emerged winner after a competitive performance assessment of the State Chief Executives in the year 2019.
It reads: “the Board of Directors and the entire Management team of the Independent Newspapers LTD, have unanimously selected the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE as the ‘Grassroots Development Governor of the Year 2019’ in recognition of his rare achievements in urban renewal and developing state rural communities in order to create a fertile environment for commerce and industry.
