Hon Anayo Nwonu

National Assembly member representing Ishielu/Ezza North Federal Constituency, Hon. Anayo Edwin Nwonu, has described his appoinment as the House Committee Chairman on Reformatory Institutions and Colleges as a huge shock to him because he never expected it.

Recall that Nwonu’s appointment was announced by the Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila during Thursday’s plenary in Abuja.

Reacting to his appointment, the federal lawmaker, maintained that he wasn’t expecting it.

In his press statement made available to newsmen, Nwonu, thanked Hon. Gbajabiamila for the great honour by finding him worthy to head the prestigious Committee.

Nwonu who’s also the Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Capital Market, said that he got to know of his appointment on Thursday afternoon when he started getting congratulatory messages from his colleagues and political associates.

The Chairman who is currently out of the country however assured of his preparedness to deliver effectively on the position.

On his part, the immediate past Chairman of the committee, Hon. Laz Ogbee who represented Ezza South/ Ikwo Federal Constituency in Ebonyi State congratulated the new chairman and urged him to remain focused and determined in the exercise of the demands of the office.

Ogbee said he was optimistic that Nwonu would deliver qualitative and quantitative services which placed him capable and suitable for the position.

He also extolled Hon. Gbajabiamila’s leadership qualities and deep commitment for National stability
