*Defects With Over 200,000 Party Faithfuls

The former gubernatorial candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), Dr. Adol Awam Chris has returned to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Adol-Awam who contested against the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt.Hon. Francis Nwifuru of the All Progressive Congress in the 2023 gubernatorial general elections,  made this known on Friday while speaking with journalists in Abakaliki.

The former NNPC gubernatorial candidate defected alongside his running mate with over 200,000 party members across 171 political wards and 13 local government areas of the state.

Prophet Adol Awam indicated that he rejoined the All Progressive Congress (APC) following the deep sense of responsibility and the genuine desire to serve the people better.

While disclosing that before his exit from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), he played a pivotal role in the formation of the ruling party in the State and worked tirelessly to solidify the party into a formidable opposition force before the former Governor, David Umahi assumed office in 2015.

Stating, “today, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the end of my journey with the NNPP. After careful consideration and introspection, I have resolved to return to the party that I consider my true political home, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Allow me to take this opportunity to share with you the reasons behind my decision.
“Before the merger that brought together the then ACN, ANPP, CPC, and a faction of APGA to form the APC, I played a pivotal role in bringing the ACN into Ebonyi State in 2010. I had the privilege of being a gubernatorial candidate for the party in the 2011 general elections.

“Moreover, I sponsored all 24 House of Assembly candidates of the party in that same election and actively contributed to the merger process. My commitment to the ideals of the APC has always been unwavering.

“It is worth mentioning that my wife, Barr. Princess Ojiugo Awam, served as the deputy national organizing secretary of the ACN until the merger.”

“Together, we have shared a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of the APC and its ability to shape the future of our great state. After the merger, I invested my resources and influence into building a formidable grassroots structure for the APC in Ebonyi State.”

“With this in mind, I am proud to announce that I am returning to the APC, the party I call home. I am bringing with me the teeming grassroots structures that have been established across the 13 local government areas of the state,” he stated.
