Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has warned intending pilgrims to Israel not to think of absconding.

The Governor’s warning came during a one-day orientation for the pilgrims at the Cabinet Office in Abakaliki.

Secretary to the State Government, Professor Grace Umezurike, who represented the governor, emphasized that the pilgrimage is a spiritual exercise, not a recreational outing.

She urged the pilgrims to pray for the state, its leadership, and their personal intentions during the nine days of prayer.

Umezurike also reminded the pilgrims to exhibit exemplary conduct as ambassadors of Ebonyi State, participate fully in spiritual activities, and comply with the pilgrimage guidelines warning that the Governor does not want to receive any negative reports about the pilgrims.

The pilgrimage, sponsored by Governor Nwifuru’s administration, is historic, being the first of its kind.
