Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the governorship candidate for the 2023 election under the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Ebonyi State, Tuesday, debunked rumors of operating  as a spoiler

He said the speculation was false and peddled by propagandists who took advantage of his silence to spread fabricated lies of sponsorship from the opposition party.

The gubernatorial candidate told journalists during the dedication and 25th anniversary celebration of the Emmanuel Anglican Church Building in Abakaliki, the state capital that only God is behind his governorship ambition which will be won through his antecedents, capacity and competence.

According to Odii: “People are saying that the governor sent me to contest for the 2023 governorship and that he’s sponsoring me.

“Nobody sent AnyiChuks to run for governorship asides God and its for the purpose of putting smiles on the faces of all the old and young people of Ebonyi State.

“We don’t want to become violent like them because they don’t know me as a violent person. The hand the opposition party brought now is one to shed blood and am not that kind of person and I know that God will help us.

“The season we are, is a season of propaganda and rumor. You should know that nobody is behind me, and nobody shall be behind my governorship ambition, except God. It’s only God that’s behind my governorship ambition. It’s only God that made me to come out for this race and I know, I have all it takes work for my people and make Ebonyi one of the best states in Nigeria. That’s why I’m in the race.

“So, alot of gossips will come from my opponents who are scared of Anyichucks. I don’t know why they are scared of Anyichucks? But this election is going be about competence and capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to the people. Ebonyi people are looking for a peace loving person to be their Governor. They will vote based on the antecedents of all the governorship contestants.”

On the reconcilation of the aggrieved stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, Odii said, that the move was in progress before constituting his campaign council, to avoid any stakeholder feeling sidelined.

“We deemed it necessary to reconcile with few party members and stakeholders who were aggrieved before we kick-off our campaign, because I’m a peaceful, loving person, and I believe that charity begins at home. We have all it takes to win the election, but we wouldn’t want to win the election without involving all our people and that’s what I have been doing that appears to have slowed our campaign.

“I can’t constitute campaign council without involving all the stakeholders, because doing so, amounts to sidelining them. And I don’t want to sideline any person. What I have been doing is to ensure all of them are involved and very soon, you will see us kickoff our campaign,” Odii stated.
