… Says State has been Progressive

The chairman Ebonyi State Elders’ council, Chief Ben Okah has stated that Education should be given priority  in the next administration.

He made this known while speaking with THE VOICE on the massive transformation witnessed in the State since the past 26 years.

He maintained that the State has excelled tremendously in infastrutural development but need to do more in education, human capital development and agriculture.

He disclosed that there have been magnificent transformation in the State for the past 26 years.

Adding “It is a milestone , 26 years of creation , I was council chairman that time, of Ishelu local government, the capital city was a dusty place , brown roof houses, the entire state there was no road.

“There was no outstanding buildings , there were no federal presence, even state was not there. Today there is a clear difference, we have developed Urban city and we have well built up rural area.

“We had a wonderful starter, Gov Fegahbor who started the state on a very good note and raised our enthusiasm, after Fegahbor, Oduye came, Dr. Sam Egwu who actually laid a foundation for the State,the following Governor who was actually my boss, I was a commissioner under him , he had wonderful ideas about this State and he built solid structures in roads and infastruture, he started the sectariart, he build the water treatment plant and then now we have the trail Blazer, Engr. David Umahi who have turned around the State. So it have been very progressive”

“In the coming years, they should look into agriculture, education, health , human development, that is where they should concentrate on. Already we have infastruture, they should look into maintance”.

He maintained that the State faired massively well under All Progressive party , while arguing that the Predecessor who governed the State under the platform of People’s Democratic Party performed well but on individual capacity.  Stating “we discovered lately that we can change parties and since the State changed into APC it has attracted a lot of things from the federal government,” he stated.
