The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has issued a challenge to opposition parties to field their candidates for the upcoming local government elections.

Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki on Thursday, Emegha firmly dismissed allegations that the APC had hijacked the election, reiterating the party’s adherence to constitutional guidelines.

“How serious are you as a political party? Constitutionally, what we are doing is enshrined. Why can’t you go as a political party and do the same? Look at our campaign rallies—are these the actions of a party taking things lightly? In the coming days, you will witness national leaders joining us in local government campaigns. President’s design does not tolerate fake ground claims; we strictly follow constitutional and electoral guidelines,” Emegha declared.

“It is at the field that we will confirm our victory. When the results are announced, that’s when I know we have won the election, go to the field it will be free and fair” Emegha affirmed, while addressing concerns from opposition parties.

He maintained that the APC would strictly adhere to electoral guidelines, stressing on transparency and fairness.

Emegha also reiterated the party’s readiness to win the election through extensive campaigns across all local government areas.

“We’re doing our campaign and well prepared for the election.
In order to win all the Local Government Areas during the election, my party has embarked on a serious campaign. We don’t want lapses. It is an election and we are working hard to win the election and by the grace of God, we shall win”, he said.

The Chairman urged all APC supporters to come out en mass to vote for APC candidates on the election day.
