The Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State Mr Aliyu Garuba has charged youths to see themselves as crucial instrument for improve security to elliminate series of worrisome insecurity threat in the stat and nation at large.

He made the call while inaugurating the youth wing state executive of Police Community Relationship Committee,PCRC, at the command headquarters in Abakaliki.
The Commissioner of police commended the courage of youths who volunteered to collaborate with the force to fight against the escalating insecurity challenges in the society.

Mr Garuba charged the newly inaugurated executive and members to go beyond the state capital in fishing out the bad element and provide quick information to the police for improve services.

The zone Nine chairman of PCRC, Mr Chukwu Aja David traced the formation of the body to 1984,during the tenure of Mr Etim Inyang as the Inspector General of Police said the national deemed it necessary to include the youth wing to check their involvement in criminality and violence using the End Sars protest few years ago as a case study.

On their contributions PCRC Ebonyi state chairman Mr Michael Mkpukpu,Chief Harrison Onwe and the traditional ruler of Nkaliki Echara unuhu,Eze ogo Sunday Oketa.commended the Nigeria police force collaboration with the youths and charged the executive to do the assignment responsibly.

The newly inaugurated PCRC,youth wing state coordinator Comrade Ikechukwu Udu pledged that Haven known their critical role in ensuring security and peace in the society they would render the best service for the interest of the state and beyond.

Stating “we will work close with the Police to make sure that we bring peace to Ebonyi, security is everybody is business, we will ensure that there is peace in all part of the State, because when there is no peace there is no progress in the State.

Comrade Udu appealed to youths under various police divisions in the state to rise up for the new assignment to restore total security and peace in the area.
The event attracted leaders of sister security agents in the state and other stakeholders.
