The wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs Mary-Magdalene Nwifuru has pledged to speedily complete the reconstruction and renovation of remand home in the state.

She stated that she will be fully involved in the project to ensure that the children who are in conflict or in contact with the law are provided with a descent and befitting Centre where they’ll be guided through counselling sessions to become better persons in the society.

She stated this when she visited the home in Abakaliki, the state capital.

She charged the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in the state, Mrs Felicia Nwakpuma to swiftly get an engineer to commence the project which will house a skill acquisition centre to teach the minors how to be useful to themselves and the society at large.

Earlier, The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Barr Felicia Nwakpuma appreciated Mrs Nwifuru for her visit and also thanked her for the food stuffs and clothes she provided during the campaign period.

Mr Igwe Godwin, the Director of Child Development Department, while speaking, appealed to the state government to employ security men, supervisors to help train and counsel the kids and provide other needs.

Igwe appreciated the first lady for the her visit and gifts of food, clothes, mosquito nets, mattresses and other items to the children.
