… Corpse dumped in his car boot

Ebonyi lawmaker, representing Ebonyi North West in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Alike his younger brother to unknown assassins.
According to the police spokesperson, DSP Loveth Odah, the deceased, Sam Alike had left his house on Friday, May 22, 2020 in search of earpiece to make calls but he never came back.
Odah said that Hon. Victor contacted the police to report the disappearance of his brother, but he was advised to wait till the next day before they would put up an announcement declaring him missing.
She noted that having received the report, they went into investigation to unravel the man’s whereabouts.
But unfortunately, she got a call the next day being Saturday that Sam’s car was spotted parked along Nkwagu road just after the double lane demarcation.
Odah said she told her men to search the car thoroughly and behold Sam’s lifeless body was found squeezed into the boot of his car.
She noted that the deceased head was swollen and no gunshot wound or bruises were found on his body.
On the claim that Sam had gone to refill gas cylinder at the gas station, Odah pointed out that there was no cylinder found in the car, and that the report they got was that he went to look for earpiece to make call. Adding that the boot had already packed bags in it.
”On Friday, Hon. Victor Alike, reported that the younger brother was missing that he left home to go and collect something, earpiece from a friend to make call and didn’t return.
“Police had commenced investigation when on Saturday evening, call came in that they sighted the vehicle around Nwkegu area. I told them to search the car, they did and said nothing was found. I asked about the boot, that was when they opened it and saw the deceased corpse squeezed inside.
“His head was swollen but no mark of gun shot or matchet cuts found on his body.
It was gathered that late Sam had three children and his wife is heavily pregnant.
He was secondary school teacher at Girls High School Azuiyiokwu.
