Ebonyi: NDE Flags Off 2023 Community Based Business Training Scheme

The National Directorate of Employment NDE in Ebonyi State has flagged off the Orientation Ceremony of 2023 Trainees of Community Based Business Training Scheme. .

The NDE Director- General, Malam Abubaka Nuhu disclosed this during the Ceremony at EB/CSDP Hall Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State.

The DG who was represented by the NDE State Coordinator, Clergy Don Anaba said NDE is one of the Job Creation Schemes designed to create decent jobs for unemployed school leavers and drop outs.

Anaba said “Community- Base Business Training is considered a way to develop the concepts of Business been taught by connecting the Trainees to personal, first- hand experienced and familiar, accessible example trainers within our immediate communities”.

“Community Based Business learning is an alternative to more traditional forms or merchandising learning with advantages in improvement, knowledge retention, skill acquisition and preparation for life skills because participants can be giving more opportunities to apply what they have learnt in practical and real life setting “. He added.

Moreso, the State Coordinator informed that the training is structured to elicit business Skills, such as a motivation for entrepreneurship, forms of business and legal responsibility, marketing plan and strategy, sources of fund for small businesses, costing of product and services, cash management, basic record keeping and business ethics.

He appreciated the trainers for their courage and commitment.

The Head of Department HOD Special Public works, Engr Anthony Ogwudu during the flag off said the department expressed joy over the turnout of the trainers and trainees.

Engr. Ogwudu encouraged the beneficiaries to take the training very serious so that they can become successful business men and women in the State.

“We oversee the Graduate Attachment Program GAP, Graduate coaching Scheme GCS, Environmental Beautification Scheme EBTS, Solar Energy Training SET, Environmental Training Scheme ETS, Community Development CD and Community- Base Business Training”. Ogwudu added.

The HOD further stressed on the importance of the program and called on the general public especially the immediate beneficiaries to pay attention to their trainers.
