Former Governor Sam Egwu and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial district, Sunday, won return ticket in a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Primary election held in Ebonyi State.

According to the returning Officer, Mr Mudi Ihrenede, announced that Egwu polled 163 votes to emerge winner beating other aspirants Mbam Chikaodiri Ojemba and Emeka Otozi, at the election, held at the Party’s Secretariat, along Enugu-Abakaliki expreasway

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was on ground to monitor the election as security personnel, including the Nigeria Police provided security for the delegates and the entire Party faithfuls

Senator Egwu in his acceptance speech said he was impressed by the transparent nature of the exercise and thanked the national and state working Committee of the PDP, security agents and INEC for a job well done.

He appreciated the delegates and other stakeholders for finding him worthy of their votes, Egwu promised never to disappoint them at the Senate if he eventually emerged in the general election.

While promising to work with all, including his opponents, to move Ebonyi forward, adding that those who did not win today, could win tomorrow
