Ebonyi State Government, on wednesday, appointed five new special  Assistants for key ministries and departments with Governor David Umahi charging the appointees to live up to the expectations of their new office or risk being sacked within one month if found wanting.

At the swearing-in event held at Exco-Chambers, Old Government House Abakaliki,  Umahi said the appointees were selected for the positions to help the state, as work for him following the stance that “only 20 percent of EXCO members are working”.

However, the governor charged the newly sworn in appointees to be dedicated in their service delivery to the people of the state as he was tired of appointing people and they don’t add value to the government.

The newly sworn-In special Assistants are Nnenna Umahi as Personal Assistant to the Governor, Mr Maxwell Umahi Special Assistant on Solar light, Emmanuel Nwangbo, Special Assistant on Streetlight, Simon Anyigor, Special Assistant on Governor’s Lodge and Eze Ikechukwu, Special Assistant on Internal Security.

The Governor also announced the immediate appointment of all Ex-PDP Chairmen and Secretaries at the council levels, defected to the All Progressives Congress, (APC) , as his Special Technical Assistants.

He assured other decamped PDP executives at the council  and ward levels of full accommodation in the Ebonyi State government
