A -7-year-old boy identified as Master Nwankwo Chisom has been rescued from his abusive mother, Mrs.Blessing Nwankwo , who allegedly tortured her son to coma.

Master Chisom , a resident of Ekwumili Street, Abakaliki was rescued by a comedian and Activist, Mr.Friday Nwifuru, A.k.A ” I go yarn” who witnessed the incident .

According to Mr.Friday, he stated that he spotted the mother of the seven year-old-boy engaging the son in all manner of combat.

He hinted that on sighting the high level of torture on the boy,it propelled him to raise alarm for rescue, then, the mother had punched the minor’s head open with blood gushing out.

The ace comedian frowned on the woman’s unholy act, noting that he was shocked to discover the boy was the woman’s biological son.

He condemned the inhumane treatment meted on the child, hence, recommend that proper brain test should be conducted on the woman to know her mental state as he revealed that the son had admitted that fresh sores on his body were inflicted on him by the mother with electric iron.

He, however, appreciated the effort of FIDA and Maternal Child Health Centre Azuiyiokwu for their intervention and quick response and tasked mothers to be more responsible in handling their wards at home.

“I was passing when all of a sudden,I saw this lady pouncing on the child. All of a sudden, the boy hits his head on the pavement and blood started gushing his body.

“So, some angry mob rushed to beat her up but with my intervention they calmed down and I quickly called a friend who is working with ,FIDA,Mr Okey Agom, some Journalists and security men who through their help,we rushed the child and the mother to the health center.

“I am surprised when I learnt that the child was her biological child with several wounds all over the child’s body said to had inflicted on him by the mother with electric iron.

“My advice to mothers is that they should take good care of their children because they have their own right and should not be abuse no matter who you are.

However, the Public Health Nurse in charge of Maternal and Child Health Centre Azuiyiokwu,Mrs Odo Elizabeth, told The Voice that the mother and child were received on the case of child abuse.

According to her, after much interrogation by the rescurers, the woman insisted that her child should be admitted to the center where she is currently on first aid treatment pending when they would stable before transferring them to Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital.

The Nurse, however, advised mothers to be civil in disciplining their children instead of hard way which many end up inflicting injuries on their wards .

She further encouraged them to refer their stubborn child to Human Right or correctional Centre in the state where they can be properly handled instead of disfiguring their children in the name of discipline.
