The big stage is almost set for his royal steps and as a Servant-Leader, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru appreciates the need to carrying everyone along. The Honourable Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, who now doubles as the Governor-Elect, Ebonyi State, welcomed to his official residence yesterday, the State Leadership of the Labour Party, who were on a congratulatory visit to him.

The Governor-Elect in his usual gesture of hospitality, thanked his visitors for deeming it necessary to come and congratulate him. More significantly, he appreciated their courage and determination for a better and unified Ebonyi State, which spurred them to adopt him as their Gubernatorial Candidate, some days before the elections. He went on to assure them that they will all work together in his Government.

“Your move to adopt me as your Gubernatorial Candidate proved that you have a wider picture of politics. It made me stand strong and weakened my opponents psychologically. Even if you did not vote for me, that singular act of adopting me is enough. You made an adoption and God answered your prayers.

Arc.Edward Nkwegu

It is a must that I will accommodate you people in my Government because you worked for it. I am not going to be a Governor of one or two persons. I’ll be Governor for all because the people’s taxes that I’ll manage is for everyone. I know that managing failure is easier than managing success, but I’ll make you proud.” – Nwifuru said.

He went on to praise the former Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate, Arc. Sir Edward Nkwegu for his consistency in growth and mentorship. Earlier in their speeches, the State Chairman of the Party, Godwin Jioke, Gubernatorial Candidate, Sir Edward Nkwegu and House of Representatives Candidate, Pharm. Tony Ekoh said they were fulfilled with the outcome of the Gubernatorial elections, hence their visit to congratulate him.

In the same evening, the Governor-Elect welcomed the former Gubernatorial Candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Engr. Chukwuma Nwandugo and his faithfuls who were on hand to congratulate Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru and further affirm their new membership into the family of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
