29-year-old mother of four has died trying to abort her lover’s baby at Inikiri Effum in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi state.
The deceased, Chinasa Odah was married to Mr. Michael Odah, and they already had four children, but she was impregnated by one Monday Mgbada, and both of them were not happy with the development.
Chinasa died on August 24 following excessive bleeding that occurred after she was allegedly administered a drug for abortion by the lover boy, who is 25years old.
The love birds have been in extra-marital relationship and unfortunately for them, pregnancy occurred and in their desperate bid to secretly terminate the unwanted pregnancy, she was administered with some drugs which triggered off excessive bleeding.
The Voice gathered that after taking the abortion pills, the deceased went back to her husband’s house and continued with her normal activities.
Evidently while she was there, the bleeding started, and when it became severe the husband rushed her to Sudan hospital Effium where doctors confirmed that she had taken a substance to abort the baby, which led to her death.
“She was bleeding from her private part. When she was pressurized to talk, she confessed that Mr. Mgbada impregnated her and gave her drugs to terminate the pregnancy and that the drugs warranted the bleeding which led to her death”, according to family source.
The development was said to have been reported to the police station in Effuim and the suspect arrested.
When contacted, the police public relations officer Ebonyi State Command, Odah Loveth, confirmed the incident.
She added that the matter was still under investigation and that the suspect was in police custody and will be arraigned after investigation.
Asked how the suspect will be arraigned since the deceased was no more to testify in court, she said “What the deceased said before she died is very important, but in a normal circumstance heresy is not admissible in the court of law, but because it is a death declaration, it will be admissible in the court of law and the suspect will be charged for murder, the court has the final say.”
“The man has been arrested and investigation is on. The suspect will be arraigned after investigation. The woman 29 years has four children before going into extra martial affairs.
“We have the body in the mortuary. The man cannot be allowed to go because somebody has died in this matter.”
