An Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has celebrated the governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, DG World Trade Organization, and other Igbo sons and daughters recently conferred with national honours award by President Muhammadu Buhari describing it as well deserving
The group in a statement signed by Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide stated it was delighted that notable Igbo sons and daughters made the national honours award list.
“We salute these eminent Igbo sons and daughters in a very special way of making us proud. The two South-East Governors who are beneficiaries of these awards have made their mark in governance and deserve the national honour. We are so proud of their achievements so far in office.
“On the part of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, she has made Ndigbo and indeed Nigeria proud among the comity of nations. As the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, she has not let us down.
“We are also proud of other Igbo leaders, industrialists and businessmen, Igwe Prof. Laz Ekwueme, Dr. Allen Onyema, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, among others, for making the list,” it read.
