24-year-old Alabi Tolani, who was allegedly set ablaze by her boyfriend, Orji Ifeanyichukwu for allegedly cheating on him has finally gave up.

The fire incident happened on December 7, 2019 at about 1145hrs, at G54 Army Post Service Housing Estate, Ojo, Lagos where the suspect resides with the deceased.

Ifeanyichukwu Victor is 19 years old, while Tolani was 24years old and the duo started cohabiting after the deceased allegedly promised to stop prostitution and remain faithful to him.

They began dating in March 2019, and Tolani died in December 7, from burns she suffered after being set ablaze by the suspect.

Okechukwu as learnt got jealous after reading Tolani’s alleged love chats, claiming he saw nude pictures she sent to another lover on her phone.

The suspect who felt betrayed now decided to set his girlfriend ablaze.

He was arrested by the Lagos State Police, and Bala Elkana, the state PPRO confirmed arrest of the suspect as well as death of the victim.

“On December 7, at about 1145hrs, operatives of Iba Police Station arrested one Orji Ifeanyichukwu Victor ‘m’ 19 years old of G54 Army Post Service Housing Estate, Ojo, Lagos for setting one Alabi Tolani Mariam ‘f’ 24 years, ablaze.
“The suspect confessed that he used petrol to set the victim ablaze.

“The suspect who is 19 years met the victim, a 24-year-old girl on February 28, 2019 through a hookup and she moved into his house in March.”

“They have since then cohabited as lovers. The suspect finished his Secondary School in 2016 at Gbagada Senior Grammar School and is seeking for admission into tertiary institution,” he narrated.
