The member representing Ikwo/Ezza Federal Constituency, Hon Chinedu Ogah, in Abakaliki, on Wednesday visited the less privilege persons in the State to felicitate with them on his birthday as well as appreciate them for electing the Candidate of All Progressive Congress from the position of the President to the State House of Assembly in 2023 general election.

The Voice gathered that the visitation is part of the activities outlined to mark his 47 birthday celebration slated to hold on Sunday, July 2nd 2023 in his hometown in Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State.

Rep Ogah commenced the visitation from the menial job seekers situated opposite Pa Ngele Oruta township stadium, where he gave out food, clothing materials as well as cash gifts to them in appreciation for their solidarity during the general election.

Ogah, equally visited the Old People’s Home as well as the Red cross Orphanage in Abakaliki, the Muslim community and also, Abakaliki and Afikpo North Correctional Centers where he donated food items, clothing, toiletries and cash sums worth millions of naira.

In his separate speeches, the lawmaker encouraged the destitute, inmates and others, never to lose hope as it is not a place of punishment but a place of corrections.

He thanked them for voting for All Progressives Congress party APC, including President Ahmed Bola Asiwaju Tinubu, His Excellency Rt Hon Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, the Executive governor of Ebonyi State and himself, Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah OON as Member, federal House of Representatives Ikwo/Ezza-South federal constituency.

Ogah further said “All of you should know that being here does not mean that your own has finished, it is a moment of trial, and it is for you to redefine your future. I was once here for six months for an offence I don’t know, but when I came out of here, I learned a lot of things, I made new friends, and this place made me understand different kinds of offences”.

“I am here to encourage you not to be depressed but to have forgiveness of mind. Olusegun Obasanjo was in prison and when released became the President of Nigeria, Nelson Mandela was in prison for many years and came out to become the president of South Africa, so are most of the great leaders you know today were once in prison, I was here for an offence I don’t know but when I came out I became a great personality in the society. It is good to have a history, you need to change to become a great person, just tell yourself the truth and work for a better future”. Ogah stated.

The Comptroller, Nigeria Correctional Service in Ebonyi State, Mr Chigbata Anthony (Abakaliki), Mr Aneke Stephen (Afikpo), and the Vice Chairman Hausa Community, Alhaji Idris Deti, thanked the Nigerian Government for reformations being seen in Correctional Centers today in the Country.

They appreciated Ogah for always remembering the prison inmates and the Hausa Community in particular.

Among those who lend their voices to appreciate the lawmaker at places visited include, the caretaker Old People’s home, Lekpa John and Chairman Artisan Samuel Odoh, all lauded Rep.Ogah for his generosity, while praying for God’s blessings upon his life.
