Reps Chinedu Ogah Distributes Equipment, drugs worth 180 million to 20 Health Facilities in Ebonyi

Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah during the weekend, distributed equipments ,drugs worth millions of naira to 20 health centers in his constituency.
The lawmaker noted that drugs where distributed following the approval by the federal government of Nigeria , in collaboration with AMURT.
The essence of distributing the items was to support the state government’s efforts towards improved healthcare delivery.
The Voice gathered that the equipments distributed to the healthcare facilities include hospital mattresses, hospital beds, adults and baby scales, and refrigerator.
Others were dressing scissors , binocular microscopes ,disposal gloves, rechargeable lamps, cupboard, mackintosh, stethoscope, incision and drainage kit, standing fan, e.t.c
Comrade Ogah who is representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives under the All Progressive Congress (APC), described good public health as a crucial need for national productivity.
He further said that the gesture was prompted following the outbreak of cholera in some areas of his constituency, and also to fulfill his electoral promises made to the people during electioneering .
He appreciated the officials of the primary healthcare in the State and beyond for their commitment in ensuring better healthcare services in the State..
Stating ” we attracted possible equipment, drugs to various health centers through the national health care development agency, Abuja.
” And that is why as a member representing Ikwo/Ezza south constituency I was able to put it in a budget , it was funded by the federal government .
“I went extra mile to source my personal money to add for the contractors to supply these items.’
Comrade Ogah maintained that the drugs are free, while disclosing that the federal government approved hospitals for the drugs and equipment include Echialike Primary Health center, Cottage hospital Agubia, Item-Amagu health centers Among others.
He went further to state ” we are making sure we distribute all these to the various Health care centers according to the directives of the national healthcare development agency.
“The total estimate of the whole job is almost about 180 million naira because the national primary healthcare awarded the other ones, the hospital equipment about 14 million, but we added almost 30 million to procure the equipment, to make it tripple . The awarded drugs of 7.5 million each and 7 million , but we added almost about 20 million each in each of these drugs, because we want those drugs to go round to our people.”
“Recently you heard of outbreak of cholera in some of the areas in my constituency , you cannot leave everything alone for the government. The government has done much, as part of the representative representing the people, I am elected by the people, so that is the need why we should do these things to make sure our people are well.” He said.
In her response, AMURT officer in charge, Ogada Janet appreciated the lawmaker for his kind gesture and assured that the drugs would be distributed freely to health centers.
She urged other well-placed public officers and corporate organisations to emulate Ogah’s gesture in supporting the society.
