Security Agencies in Ebonyi receive 100 Motorcycles from State Govt

Security agencies in Ebonyi state have received 100 motorcycles from the Governor David Umahi led govt to aid operatives while discharging their duties in the state.

The handover of the motorcycles took place at the old government house, Abakaliki on Wednesday, 14th April, 2021.

In his remark, Governor Umahi who was represented by the state commissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolutions, Stanley Okoro Emegha, said the gesture was to respond to appeals by security agencies in the state to aid their movement while in the process of restoring peace to the of Ezza Effium/Effium communities and other remote parts of the state.

 

 

He said, “It is in fulfilment of the promise the state government made to the security agencies, you know this Effium and Ezza Effium crisis, there are too many hinterlands that vehicles cannot access and as such, the security agencies made appeal to the governor of the state to procure some motorcycles for them, we procured 100 pieces of the motorcycles”.

The distribution list of the motorcycles showed that the police received 30 motorcycles,
20 pieces for the army and 50 pieces for the state owned neighborhood watch vigilantee group.

Emegha, Said with the deployment of troops to the crisis area as well as the continual visits by the state deputy governor and other security Chiefs, related peace has returned to the area.

“For weeks now and with the deployment of the troops, the area has been calmed, and the deputy governor have been visiting there on two days basis, with me and other security Chiefs and as such, we have relative peace there for now”
