A Fake blind beggar has been apprehended in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Capital. Just like a saying has it that ‘ once a devil’s time is due, it will fall a victim. This was the case of this woman who pretentiously faked her blindness to beg for alms…
The Voice gathered that the fake blind woman was arrested by SA to Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State on Mineral Resources & Environmental Management.
According to an eyewitness who shared the report to The Voice , the woman who hails from Imo State always beg for “alms at Union Bank Junction in Abakaliki.”
According to him,” It’s her usual practice to apply ‘Rob’ ointment on her eyes, her eyes responds to the stimuli, she keeps it shut while one of her little children leads her by the hand!”
“She reapplies the balm when its effect on her eyes seem to be waning”.
Unfortunately, her practice failed her when she approached a certain vehicle at the traffic junction, It was the SA to governor David Umahi who was at the vehicle. The woman in her usual ways tried to plead for alms but being so unlucky, the balm in her eyes has fade off as she could no longer pretend to be blind
The SA being so smart suspected her to be faking since she could no longer maintain her usual practice with the absence of the ointment in her eyes, that prompted the SA to get down from his car and forced the woman to open her eyes and at that scene it was discovered that she was just faking her blindness
The woman quickly confessed that she was not actually blind that it was due to hunger and fear of survival that lead her into such act as she could no longer feed her family neither could she her self feed
As at the time of filing this report, the Governor’s Aide conveyed the woman to old Government house.
