Odah on getting to the deceased family met with his wife and three children, (a boy and two girls) and reassured them of the presence of government.

“Their request is that we should not because of the death of their father abandon them. They have been assured that they will always remain part of government of Ebonyi state and Ohaukwu Local Government Area.

“Assurances were given to them on behalf of the governor that the death of their father will not be in vain, that they will be remembered.

”Luckily, his Excellency is being very generous, creating unlimited empowerment opportunities for every widow. He has directed that widows be represented almost 50% in all the appointments at the grass root.

“It is a directive that every ward must have two liaison officers and out of the two, one must be a widow, what it means is that we have 171 liaison officers, all widows, across the state So I promised to appeal to the governor, that the widow of the late coordinator be allowed to occupy the slot of liaison officer for her ward which is Ishingbo Ward I.

“That is the promise I made that I will plead with his Excellency on that. I believe that he is a man of principal and sound morals, so, that request will not be difficult to grant,” he added.

Odah also handed an undisclosed amount of money to the family to assist them for the time being, adding that the council will also sponsor the former coordinator’s burial.

It would be recalled that late Igboke was among the coordinator aspirants who went for screening at Ecumenical Centre Abakaliki this September, where he slumped and was rushed to hospital, but shortly, he was pronounced dead by a doctor at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki.
