UMAHI DEFECTION: Why I Resigned – Ex Ebonyi APC Publicity Secretary
The Ebonyi State immediate past APC Publicity Secretary, Nwoba Chika Nwoba has cleared the air on why he resigned his position in the party.
In a statement published on his Facebook wall today, the former APC spokesperson said he resigned in order not to involve himself in double standard.
Mr. Nwoba further stated that his mission in politics was to entrench good democratic governance which informed his critics of some government policies in the state.
The statement reads in full:
“Many people including journalists have been dialling into my phone lines to learn in actual reasons what formed my resignation from office as the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Ebonyi State. For the avoidance of dysphemism, I resigned on the singular ground that I don’t want myself to be caught in the mesh of political doublespeak and selfsameness. I couldn’t have afforded to regurgitate phlegm and later swallow same in the name of politics.
I have always made it known that my basic interest in politics is to use it as a platform to correct as much as I can the ills that have overtime disgruntled democratic tenets from leadership realities in our dear state. My interest as a person can never override the general interest of the wheels that propel the engine of democracy and conscientious leadership. If it’s not planned to be done well as to carry everyone along, count me out of the arrangement. We can’t continue to do things draconically and wish to ride at the back of the golden horse.
I am not interested in any appointment from the Ebonyi State Government no matter how lucrative it might seem, as I shall be rejecting any if attempted. I have decided to be at the floor, contributing my quota towards entrenchment of good governance, for now, slugging it hot against any force if need be, and speaking for the common Ebonyian as much as I can. I am robustly in the APC as party’s stakeholder and will continue to think and act good for her.
So, I quitted for the obvious reasons of not taking part in deceiving Ebonyi people, engaging in doublespeak and sounding the sweet drum for the virulent character. One doesn’t need to draw the attention of the deaf and the dumb to the belching foot of war. It has to be fought squarely so that at the end the ordinary people will feel good for it.
I shall not be paying attention to the rantings of conquered minds as the task of regurgitating the virus from the stomach of democracy is a big one requiring unhindered focus, fierce heart, unusual intellectual display and suchlike.
Ebonyi belongs to all of us and we must do all we can to diffuse the doings of the satanic stratagems and get them cloven of the obtrusive-evil-genius-tendency weaponry of annihilation.
