An Ebonyi man identified as Chinaza Ogbaga, has reportedly slaughtered his two kids leaving one critically injured.

The suspect is said to base in Anambra State, where he does his vulcanizing business and had gone home to visit his children.

The ugly incident happened at Egwuagu in Okpuitumo Community, Abakaliki local government area of the State where the suspect comes from.

Chinasa as learnt divorced his wife early this year but the woman left the kids with him.

The children were left with the suspects aged mother who takes care of them the much she could.

The Voice gathered that Chinaza had gone to the farm with his mother on that fateful Monday and when they came back he was busy sharpening his machete.

When his mother asked him why he was sharpening the machete, he told her that he wanted to go for frog hunting.

The woman as scooped, told him it wasn’t necessary, but he insisted on going and even threatened to beat her up if doesn’t stay out of his way.
After the altercation, Mrs. Ogbaga left the house to sleep in her elder brother’s house.

Chinasa having the mother out of his way, waited for everyone in the family to go to bed before launching the devilish attack.

He didn’t kill them in the room, sources said that he started picking the children one after the other from sleep to the nearby farm where he slit their throats and dismembered some parts of their bodies.

The suspect slaughtered 6 year-old Chikamso, a male and 4year-old Chizaram, a female at different positions in the farm, while 2year-old Emmanuel, a male, was critically injured .

Emmanuel was later rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, (AE-FETHA) for medical treatment.

According to Chinasa’s uncle, Mr. Emmanuel Nwambam, who spoke to newsmen, the family received the news with shock and rushed to the compound on that Monday night where they met the rescued child on his pool of blood.

He added: “Emmanuel was rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Federal teaching hospital, but we didn’t know that he had slaughtered two others in a nearby bush”.

He confirmed that the suspect is a vulcanizer, based in Onitsha, Anambra State and had returned home few days before the incident.

He said that after Chinasa committed the crime, he was confronted by a vigilante officer in the village who asked him why he was moving with cutlass at such late hour.

He shouted at the vigilante officer after which he went into the home of one of the villagers who is a police officer.

He begged the policeman to shot him dead for he had committed an abomination and doesn’t deserve to live again.

But the police officer ordered him to sit on the ground and asked him to confess his crime.

That was when he opened up on how slaughtered his two sons, although, at first, he didn’t disclosed to him that they were already dead until morning when the corpses were discovered in the farm.

Chinasa’s uncle said he was handed over to the Police when they discovered the atrocity he had committed.

He described the action as inhumane and called on the security agency to punish him according to the law.

The suspect’s mother, Mrs.Ogbaga disclosed that Chinasa divorced his wife early 2019 and since then he has been living peacefully with his children whom he enrolled in a private school in the community.

“Since the Chinasa divorced his wife things have not be the same again, he visits home regularly to see his three children who lived in the village with me.

“My son was confirmed to be possessed recently (Ogbanje spirit) she suspected the spirit caused his abnormal behaviour.

Mrs. Ogbaga said she left the compound for her brother’s house that night to avoid being beaten up if she tries to stop him from going for the hunting that night.

Noting that her son despite his menial handiwork, loved the children as he always provide for them even while he was away.
She expressed fear that his action was not ordinary.

The state police relations officer, DSP Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident.

Stating that the Divisional Police Officer, Ekumenyi Division reported the incident to the state headquarters.

Odah said that investigation was ongoing to know the root cause of the killing.

She assured that the suspect would be arraigned in the court after investigations.
