The Member representing Ikwo and Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah (OON), has declared that his constituency will sponsor the re-election bid of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term.
Ogah, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Services, made the declaration during the formal flag-off of a multipronged empowerment initiative held at Blessed Martins College of Nursing Sciences (BMCONSI), Ohatekwe, Amagu Ikwo.

The well-attended event featured the distribution of farming inputs, scholarship awards, ceremonial payments for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB fees, and financial support to law school students. Dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, and party stakeholders from across the constituency were present.
As part of the initiative, Ogah paid WAEC fees for 1,500 students, JAMB fees for 1,158 students, and fees for 200 Junior Secondary School students. According to him, ₦44 million was paid for NECO, ₦73 million for WAEC, while scholarships awarded gulped ₦91 million in total.
Additionally, 5,000 bags of fertilizers and rice seedlings were distributed to farmers across all wards in support of the ongoing planting season.

“I am an APC man, and in a bid to complement the efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, we paid WAEC and JAMB fees for thousands of our students,” Ogah said.
“We are doing this to consolidate the good works of our governor. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, listens to our problems and gives us hope. This project is for Ebonyians — farmers, students, and vulnerable children. Today, we are also taking care of over 200 orphans, covering their school fees and feeding.”

Ogah further emphasized that the support was aimed at achieving a bumper harvest for farmers and academic excellence for students.
He assured the governor’s wife, Chief Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, who flagged off the ceremony, that:
“We, the FON Movement, Onwa Oferekpe supporters, and others present, will raise the funds and sponsor His Excellency’s second-term election. We are committed to his continuity because of the peace and prosperity he has brought to Ebonyi.”
In her remarks, Mrs. Nwifuru praised Ogah for his visionary leadership and selfless service.
“Today, we see a leader in Hon. Ogah whose initiative aligns perfectly with the People’s Charter of Needs mantra of the state government. No child should be denied access to education,” she said, urging beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity.

The Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Emegha, also lauded Ogah’s grassroots initiatives, describing him as a worthy ambassador of the party.
“You are representing us well. Thank you for making APC proud,” he stated.
Other goodwill messages came from the former Senator representing Ebonyi Central, Dr. Emmanuel Onwe; Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Mr. Sunday Nwankwo; and a chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Okeagu Ogada, among others.
The event solidified Hon. Ogah’s commitment to people-oriented leadership, mirroring the developmental agenda of Governor Nwifuru and President Tinubu’s administration.
