Hon. Livinus Makwe

… Inaugurates 10 community liaison officers

The national assembly member representing Ohanivo federal constituency, Hon. Livinus Makwe, on Friday doled out Christmas gifts to his constituents.

The celebration which took place at his Ivo hometown, was graced by men and women from the three local government areas that make up Ohanivo federal constituency.
Hon. Makwe at the event distributed bags of rice and cash to his people while thanking God for His protection so far.

The federal lawmaker also inaugurated ten community liaison officers selected from the ten communities of his constituency.
He said the aim was to ensure that his achievements are stepped down to the hinterlands.

He said with the liaison officers, his constituents can easily reach him and that their individual requests and views on issues would be made known to him.

Hon. Makwe also used the opportunity to thank his constituents for voting for him during the February national assembly election.
He assured them that he has not disappointed them as he has already intervened on some issues as it affect his constituency.

The lawmaker reiterated that the case of those who were wrongly dismissed from their federal government jobs was already getting attention, adding that he wrote a petition to the national assemby and that they are working on it.

On employment, Makwe said that he ensured that some people from his constituency got federal government jobs.

He urged grauduates to always apply for jobs online and send the slip to him so that his team will follow it up.

He stated: “The aim for this gathering today is for us to stay together and celebrate. I want to let you know that I’m back for Christmas. Thank you for voting for me to represent you at the national assembly. We have not stayed together in this large number and that is the reason for this Christmas party. The most important thing is for us to stay together and eat, laugh and know each other better.

“Our people should be applying for jobs and send us the slip so that we will follow-up. Ohanivo graduates should help us in this regard by playing their own role. If you don’t apply, there is nothing we can do about it.

“I have to appoint ten persons from the ten communities that make up Ohanivo constituency. The essence is that I will be able to get your views on issues, request for financial assistant, medical assistant among other things on time.

“Sometimes, I will be in a meeting when your calls will come in and I wouldn’t pick. With the liaison officers, when you call and I didn’t pick, you will reach them, tell them what you want from me and they will let me know.

“Another thing is that it will help us to be assisting the right people. If anyone comes up with any complain, it can be verified by the liasion officers,” he stated.

Hon. Makwe commended Governor Nweze Umahi for his infrastructural strides in the state, mostly, in the construction of concrete roads.

“His Excellency has made us proud, our colleagues from other States always praise him. His achievements in infrastructure are insurmountable and because of that, I will move a motion in the national assembly for our governors and others to use concrete on Nigerian roads so that we will have roads that will stand the test of time,” he added.

Speaking with some of his constitutents, they expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture, while praying God to continue blessing him.
