Nwifuru’s wife inaugurates Rep Nwachukwu medical centre project, others in Ebonyi

Ebonyi Gov’s Wife, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, has inaugurated a medical centre project initiated by Mr Eze Nwachukwu, Member Representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.

The ceremony took place on Monday, during the grand finale ceremony to mark 2nd year-in-office and projects inauguration of Eze.

Nwifuru commended the rep member for his commitment to improving healthcare in the constituency, describing the medical centre as a testament to his people-centered leadership style.

She noted that the centre is expected to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, to provide their overall well-being.

She urged the people to make use of the facility, which is equipped with modern medical equipment and staffed by trained healthcare professionals.

She noted that Rep. Eze’s tenure has been marked by initiatives that touch lives directly, from infrastructural development to educational support, economic empowerment, and health and community development.

In his remarks, Eze said that “Chief Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru” medical centre was attracted to address the prevalence of quackery and to stop maternal mortality in the area.

The Lawmaker added that the centre situated at Ewashi-Ngbo community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area was built to provide quality healthcare for the rural population and emergency interventions for its constituents.

He said that the facility is equipped with advanced equipment to serve the Ewashi-Ngbo people and Agile neighboring community in Benue state.

“The facility is named after “Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru” for her deep concern for wellbeing of people through her foundation, Better health for rural women and internally displaced persons,” Nwifuru said.

He distributed free drugs, pharmaceutical medications, medical consumables among others, worth millions to 10 primary health cares centres in the area to tackle the menace of quackery.

The Lawmaker, during the unveiling of National Teachers’ Institute study centre in Ndiulo- Ngbo, said 64 students were sponsored to obtain NCE and degree award for the programme.

In a goodwill message, Senior Adviser on Primary Health, Dr Sabinus Nwibo and a stakeholder in the community, Mrs Chinyere Elom, expressed satisfaction towards the project sited, adding that the facility will serve neighbouring communities in the area.

The event featured the inauguration of completed constituency projects, launch of empowerment initiatives, and the presentation of a comprehensive stewardship account to the people.
