Correct FM Nigeria radio presenter, Mr. Victor Oton popularly known as God pikin has been honored as an International brand Ambassador for his passionate contributions towards ending Female Genital Mutilation by an NGO, Center for Social Value and Early Childhood Development (CESVED).
The award tagged “Brand Ambassador” was presented to Mr Victor by the wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs Rachel Umahi on the second day of the two days training of Journalists on campaign to end FGM/cutting, held at Salt Lake Hotel Abakaliki. On September 5, 2020.
While presenting the award, the wife of the Governor, represented by her Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Donatus Owoh tasked the media personality to keep holding the touch high and use his ambassadorial position to champion the activities of CESVED in their continuous campaign to end FGM and other obnoxious cultural practices in Nigeria and the world.
The BOT Chairman of CESVED, Chief Augustine Abu in his remark, said that the decision to honour Mr. Victor Oton (Godpikincfr) by the Organization as an international Brand Ambassador was because of his show of commitment in the course of ending FGM which said didn’t go unrecognized.
Chief Abu charged Godpikin and other media practitioners from print, broadcast and social media influencers in attendance to see FGM as an abuse of women rights and use their powers as journalists to preach against it.
Responding, Award recipient and CESVED international Ambassador, Mr. Victor Oton (Godpikincfr) appreciated CESVED for the recognition and promised to do more for humanity, especially in the campaign to end Female Genital Mutilation/cutting.
Also, 2 Ebonyi media persons received awards from CESVED in recognition of their efforts to end Female Genital Mutilation and cutting in the state.
The award recepients, Chief Press Secretary to the wife of Ebonyi state Governor, Mr. Donatus Owoh, who received The most outstanding media man to end Female Genital Mutilation in Ebonyi state award for his constant encouragement to pressure groups and Ebonyi Broadcasting Coorporation (EBBC) On-air-Personality, Miss Nnenna Oshibe who received the organization’s Most outstanding Woman of the year to end Female Genital Mutilation and cutting in Ebonyi state award for her relentless commitment to end FGM in the state and South east.
Highpoints of the event was cash gifts to exceptional media persons, presentation of cerficate of participation to all journalists attendees, group photograph, training session on twitter use, drama presentation.
