State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), coordinator, Mrs. Ann Ibe has applauded Ebonyi State Governor, David Nweze Umahi for rebuilding Afikpo Orientation Camp.
She noted that Gov. Umahi’s fatherly love and huge interest toward the success of the scheme in the state moved him to renovate the camp.

Mrs. Ibe expressed her joy over Gov. Umahi’s gesture while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki, adding that the renovation of the orientation camp has made it to be the best in the country.

The coordinator confirmed that the state government released the sum of N400 million to them in 2018 for renovation and construction works at the orientation camp, which includes renovation of existing hostels, halls, reconstruction of roads within and around the camp, parade ground, installation of street lights, among others.
She charged corps members in the state to reciprocate the gesture by comporting themselves and discharging their duties diligently.
She added; “I therefore charge the corps members to complement this gesture by adapting adequately to the expectations of the orientation camp and subsequently discharge their primary assignments effectively.
“Ebonyi has over the years, been blessed with a crop of dedicated and committed corps members who have always brought pride and dignity to the state.
“I am confident that this batch of corps members will queue into the excellent performances of their predecessors and even surpasses their achievements.”

Mrs. Ibe further charged corps members to take the 10-day intensive training on skill acquisition seriously as it is intended to build their capacity, while commending the corps members for exhibiting high sense of discipline, diligence, humility and enthusiasm to excel, a character she said portrays them as true patriots.
“I, therefore, charge them to take the 10-day intensive training on skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development seriously.
“This is intended to build their capacity and raise their self-confidence for job creation and employment,” she note
