The newly Elected Chairmen of the 13 local government Areas in Ebonyi state have been charged to ensure that the grassroot feels their impact as they work assiduously.

Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, gave this charge in Abakaliki on Tuesday, 1st September, 2020, while swearing in the 13 council Chairmen in the state who were elected during the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in the state.

Umahi stressed the need for the Council bosses to embark on projects that will give the people the dividend of democracy saying that sharing money meant for the development of the local governments will not be their legacies but the projects they put in place in their various local governments.

The Gov., said he has no regret for backing the re-election of the thirteen local government council chairmen in the state also reiterating that his government is founded in God and anyone that fights him will fail “The worst you can do is to fight a man with anointing. Our government is an anointed government. God brought our government”.

Gov. David, insisted that only E-voting will end bloodletting and other criminalities in the electoral system as he called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to adopt the idea of electronic voting proposed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP: “They are advocating for e-voting in our party, to show example to INEC”

“I believe that when E-voting comes to be, every leader will face the people and we will begin to realize that power belongs to God and God manifest himself through the people and that when the process of healing will begin in our country”.
