Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, has announced April 25, 2020, as the day for the local government poll.
In a public notice dated January 22, 2020, signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Jossy Eze and the Secretary, Chukwuemka N. Oji, interested aspirants are directed to submit their nomination papers at the commission’s headquarters at no.1 Onwe Road Abakaliki.
It was also stated that the notice has been published in all the thirteen local government areas that make up the state and in the one thousand seven hundred and eight five wards in Ebonyi state where the election would be conducted.
The notice reads: “Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission Law, 2001, (as amended) and all other powers enabling her in that behalf, the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, do hereby publish and give notice of local government council election in Ebonyi State, 2020.
“Further take notice that the date of the election (Day of Poll) is Saturday 25th of April, 2020, throughout Ebonyi State, and that Nomination Papers are to be delivered at the commission’s headquarters, No. 1 Onwe Road Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
“Also take notice that it is further published in each of the thirteen local government areas that and the one thousand seven hundred and eight five (1785) Wards in Ebonyi State that the election is to be held”.
