The Commissioner for Agriculture in Ebonyi, Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku has said that Governor Francis Nwifuru ‘s administration will embark on mechanized farming.

Iyioku said the reform would improve the skills and production of farmers and boost food production and security in the state

The commissioner while interacting with journalist in Abakaliki, said her service would gear towards the grassroots with the aim to reduce poverty and achieve food security while improving Ebonyians livelihoods.

She assured that all Local Government Areas in the state would be beneficiaries of the Nwifuru reforms in the agricultural sector.

“I want to thank the governor for this appointment he has given me. We know that Ebonyi is known as an agrarian state and because of their rich agricultural prowess, this administration will be taking it to another level by mechanizing farming.

” I’ll make sure Farmers especially in the grassroots are beneficiaries of this mechanization reform because it will reduce poverty and achieve food security while improving Ebonyians livelihoods.” she said.
