Sen. Ogba Awards Scholarships To 50 Indigent Students Of Ebonyi Central

The Senator Representing Ebonyi Central zone, Sen. Obinna Ogba has awarded scholarships to fifty indigent students in his constituency.
Sen. Ogba who did this through his non governmental organization, Joseph Obinna Ogba(Jnr) Education Foundation (JOOEF) in an event on Sunday, 22nd August, 2021 in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital. 
 
in his remarks, the founder of JOOEF, Sen. Obinna Ogba hinted that the charity organization which was instituted in memory of late Joseph Obinna Ogba Junior who was a typical epitome of detribalised personality before his death in 2011 after a brief illness as he was kind and ever ready to influence his parents to offset educational bill of indigent friends.
Ogba stated that successful students for the award was selected through a competitive and transparent process which captured four council areas of Ebonyi Central zone. 
 
 
Senator Ogba while thanking the scholarship committee stated that it is a collective effort for those in leadership position to take youths away from the street, as such, assured the unsuccessful students of more opportunity to support their noble efforts
 
He charged beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the foundation and senatorial zone by living decent and acceptable lifestyle, hence, shun cultism and other social vices.
 
He added that the foundation would follow up beneficiaries to their point of graduation even after service to ensure they get decent jobs.
 
Earlier, the Chairman Board, Ado Ekiti Polytechnic, Chief Austin Edeze commended senator Ogba for investing in education.
 
Chief Edeze who described human empowerment as the greatest of all gift to mankind, challenged other public office holders to emulate the kind gesture as to raise leaders that would stand taste of time.
 
Also speaking, the former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Higher Education, Professor (Mrs) Adaeze Nwuzor admonished beneficiaries to toe right path by ensuring that they pay back to the society by making the foundation proud.
 
Professor Nwuzor who said the best way to empower the youth was through education and emphasized that senator Ogba through JOOEF was right decision and pray God to continue to guide him in sustenance of the noble gesture.
 
Meanwhile, beneficiaries including Comrade Igwe Kingsley and Ideba Daniel appreciated senator Ogba for coming to their financial aid and pledged to reciprocate same to others in nearest future.
