Nigerian Union of Journalists Ebonyi state chapter has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of a devoted colleague, Mrs. Eucheria Obasi.Late Mrs. Obasi after chatting with her colleagues on Thursday morning at the ministry of information and state orientation and even discussed the issue of minimum wage, they left, only for one of them who went to urinate on coming back to the office, saw the deceased lying motionless on the floor.Her colleague as gathered raised alarm which attracted others and she was rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, where about three medical doctors confirmed her dead and referred her corpse to be deposited at the hospital mortuary.Mrs. Obasi, was the Public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi state Fiscal Responsibility Commission and a member of the Information Chapel of the NUJ Ebonyi state.Confirming the death, the state Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Tony Nwizi, described the demise as a great shock and loss to NUJ family in the state.The Chairman noted that Mrs. Obasi was a devoted unionist and active member of the council who would be remembered for her Patriotic commitments to the council.Comrade Nwizi who expressed concern that the death of Mrs. Obasi who until her death had served the Council as member of Election Committee as well as member of the Council’s Ethics, Discipline and Screening Committee was a big loss to her family, Ebonyi State Government and the State Council of the NUJ.He encouraged all those affected by the unfortunate incident to take solace in the Lord who sees the end from the beginning, praying for the reposed of her soul.
