‘Umahi plans to instigate crisis in Ishiagu via Ebonyi Information Commissioner’- PDP alleges

The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Ebonyi State Chapter has alleged there are plans by the Ebonyi State government to incite villages in Ishiagu to a communal war through the person of the State’s Commissioner for Information, Barr. Uchenna Orji who is himself a native of the community.
The allegation which was contained in a Press Statement made by the State’s Caretaker Publicity secretary of the PDP alarmed that the crisis could take the shape and dimension of the current communal violence ravaging Effium community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State between the natives of Effium and Ezza indigenes of Effium origin which has claimed scores of lives and brought about wanton destruction of property.
The statement read “The ridiculousness of governance in Ebonyi State will not abate even with the clear signs of their failures. Now, the government, through the Commissioner for Gossip, have perfected plans and procured journalists to write an inciting story against the Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation – Most Distinguished Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, GCON.
“They instructed these friendly journalists to create an imaginary story of how the Distinguished Senator embarked on a land grabbing exercise in Ishiagwu. This is aimed at creating disaffection and incite violence against Senator Anyim, thus re-enacting the Effium crisis in Ishiagu. When they successfully set the community ablaze, they’ll then look for people to blame.
“The whole nation is called on to witness what the David Nweze Umahi led administration in Ebonyi State is plotting to unleash in Ishiagu. The State is yet to restore peace in Effium where it’s agents ignited, and now plans to ignite another crisis.
“The Governor should deal with the Umuchima land grabbing in Uburu where his kinsmen are now locked up simply because they resisted the illegal annexation of their ancestral lands. How can someone build Umunaga Industrial Cluster using Umuchima lands? Doesn’t Umunaga have lands to donate for their own development? Or is the cluster a private endeavour? As we write this, a 72 year old man from Umuchima, Uburu is among those locked up on the orders of the Governor and they now want to talk about land grabbing in Ishiagu, who is the notorious land grabber in Ebonyi State?
“Ebonyians are called upon to disregard any publication purporting that Distinguished Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, GCON has collected lands belonging to the people of Ishiagu. It is not true, but only designed to create disaffection and crisis.
When contacted, the Commissioner for Information, Barr. Uchenna Orji as at the time of filing this report didn’t take or return calls from our reporter neither did he reply to text messages sent.
