Popular Nollywood Actress, Angela Okorie, on Thursday October 5th , joined EndSARS Protest in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
VOICE gathered that despite the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, #ENDSARS protesters on Thursday staged a heavy protest in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State . The protesters stormed Old Government House in Abakaliki before moving to Sperandio and Presco Junction.
They were seen with different ply cards, demanding for desbandment of the erring SARS Operatives.
Angela Okorie during an interview from the VOICE stated that she is excited to join Ebonyians in the #Endsars protest. Reason being that the harassment the youths face from the SARS operatives can not be condoned by the youths any more
In her words she said “I made out time to join my people here in Ebonyi state for the endsars protest because we are tired of being treated like animals. There is no respect for the youths again because of the so called SARS. Their reasons of intimidating the youths baffles me at times, most times that we dress well, use iPhone, laptops and dread our hairs. We are youths for crying out loud and we are suppose to dress well at least.
“For the laptop and other electronic devices, this is 21th century, we are advancing technologically and suppose to be digital other than analogy, so why are the so called SARS killing and harassing our youths.
“Yes there are yahoo boys somewhere , but everyone who dressed well or owns a laptop doesn’t belong to that category, I think they are misunderstanding that line.
“Most times, they rape our young girls and rob them of they money in the name of SARS. The youths are now afraid of SARS more than criminals. Please let the federal government end SARS and even the so called reformation into SWAT.
Meanwhile, some protesters expressed sadness as Angela Okorie was the only artist from Ebonyi state who joined them in the protest. They expected other top artist like patoranking and TEKNO to join them for the protest but were highly disappointed with they absence
They were making statements like “Angela please pass our message to TEKNO and PATORANKING, tell them that we are disappointed in them and we hate them for not coming.
