Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian, has bowed out of service after his four years of diplomatic tour in Nigeria.

Pingjian extended his warmth appreciation to Ebonyi state governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, over the excellent working relationship he enjoyed with the governor during his service years in Nigeria.
The Ambassador stated this in his letter of farewell to Governor Umahi, dated 8th July, 2020.
He also commended the governor for his modest efforts in the development of Ebonyi state.
The letter reads, ‘’As the time of departure approaches, I feel so hard to bid farewell to you, and to leave Nigeria, the beautiful country where I have enjoyed my tour of duty since September 2016.

‘’I wish to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to Your Excellency for the hospitality, support and assistance I have received during my tenure’’
Acknowledging the farewell message, the Governor, through a letter dated 14th July, 2020, stated that the out going Ambassador’s diplomatic tour to the country has mutually enhanced the bilateral relations of both countries.
“I must confirm to you that your diplomatic tour to Nigeria has enhanced our bilateral relations.
“I am personally touched by the exemplary passion and zeal with which you rendered your diplomatic service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“As I convey to you the warm appreciation of the government and people of Ebonyi State, please be assured of my love to you and your family always as you bow out in grace,” Umahi replied.
