The National Youth Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Engr Damian Okafor,

has expressed joy over the conduct of the South East elders, saying they have demonstrated high sense of maturity in building peace and unity in Igbo land.

Okafor said on Friday, after studying the recent twist of events and the matured conduct of elders from the zone, was encouraged to say that Ndigbo has risen for the best.

He stated categorically that ‘the problems’ of Igbo people ‘are half solved with this style of unity.’

He said that the youths of Igbo land are extremely happy with the resolution of the South East Caucus of the National Assembly, because it was void of political interest but addresses the challenges of Ndigbo presently.

“That we are exceptionally pleased with the gathering of the southern Governors in Enugu State and their resolve through the communique made available to the public is a welcomed development. This is indeed a new dawn in our history,” he said.

The Igbo youth leader noted that the youths were not only happy with the NASS Caucus and Southern Governors’ resolves, but are learning faster than any one can imagine and as such promised to consolidate on all stated therein without fear or favour.

He further said that the youths encouraged the state governors to begin massive employment and empowerments like in Ebonyi State and Enugu State as most of them are ready for rehabilitation and restitution.

The youths also tasked the state governors to borrow a leaf from Governor Hope Odidika Uzodimma and waive tax for low income earners so as to enable business thrive once again in Igbo land.

“We prevail on the Federal Government to show sincerity in solving the security menaces in Igbo Land by conceding to the panel of enquiry which the National Assembly Caucus from Igbo Land has promised to set up over the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other Igbo Youths at large.

“We also call on Igbo Youths to stop the wanton destruction of Lives and properties as it doesn’t write us well in the anal of history.

“While we encourage the Youths to subscribe to the whim’s and Caprices of the Government, we call on the elders to stop betraying our trust. This is because of the Igbo adage which says “that whenever trust is broken, sorry means nothing,” Okafor added.
